Job Title: Chief Geophysicist (BGC) Job Location: KH.
Towards enhancing the national interests and embedding talent staff, Sudapet is seeking Sudanese candidates to fills the position of Chief Geophysist with BGC as per the following:
Tasks and Duties:
- Technical development (prospecting technology) and improvement/updating of QCMS of the Company, to comply with oil industry technical standards and lead the Company QC.
- Conduct frequent technical standard pre/audit/proficiency for 2D/3D seismic crews and on-crew data quality control of 2- D & 3-D projects.
- QCing, verify and finalization of the seismic data and final reports/deliverables according to the contractual requirements.
- Technical Support and advice to the clients for enhancement of seismic data resolution.
- Preparation of seismic acquisition parameters test design proposals and presentations to clients and advise whenever is requested.
- Preparations of ITB technical documents and participate in contract negotiation.
- Preparation of technical wording agreements and in-house/overseas communications.
- Preparation and/or verification of invoices against contracts.
- Any technical responsibilities assigned by management.
- Structuring /supervision of recognizable annual technical training programs for all senior staff for careers development and building of Sudanese national capacity.
- To assist the management in managing the daily operations and production.
- Participate in making decisions about the management and major issues.
- Safeguard the interest, erect the image and boost the market of the Company.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Sc Geology or Geophysics (geophysics is preferable)–Min. 2nd class Division1.
- 10-12 years' experience in Geophysical techniques: 2D/3D seismic data acquisition, processing & preferred interpretation.

Professional Requirements:
- Sercel 408UL/XL – 428XL Seismic Acquisition System & e-SQC Advanced applications.
- Sercel VE432 Seismic Acquisition System & e-SGA applications.
- GRISYS/PROMAX Seismic Data processing techniques.
- UNIX/LINUX system applications.
